Nasib TKI Negotiate minister in Malaysia

Minister of Manpower and Transmigration (Menakertans) Drs. HA Muhaimin Iskandar, M. Si from Wednesday (11/11) to Friday (13/11) will negotiate the fate of Indonesian Workers (TKI) with the Malaysian government.

These negotiations will be conducted by the Minister of Home Affairs, Datuk Sri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein and Human Resources Minister, Datuk Dr. S. Subramaniam.

Muhaimin said, ready to take a moratorium on sending workers to be ready for the Government approved the increased protection and welfare of the quality of workers

"When ready, we'll pull the moratorium," he said when he escorted a state visit President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) in Malaysia, Wednesday (11/11).

The government was expected to conduct the evaluation and improvement in the mechanism, working conditions and protection of migrant workers.

"The talks hopefully produce an agreement in favor of the workers. We are targeting November 21 is all wrong, "he said.

Five points will be negotiated with the government of Indonesia, among others: the revision of the rules of the employer holding passports granting workers a day off a week, increased wages and working conditions, necessary supervision agency (monitoring) of the working conditions of migrant workers and migrant workers placement fee reduction.

"We want to reduce funding for the placement workers membebaniterhadap not migrant workers, especially for domestic workers, because since 2006 the cost of this placement is swollen," he said.

As is known, since 2006 has formed a joint group with the GoI. This joint forum to produce a number of agreements, but this time the agreement was not relevant and should be revised.

"The five points that we will strive to be realized all. If this could be agreed on 21 November, God willing workers will be protected, "he said.
